Gitcoin is introducing three thematic rounds as part of Gitcoin Grants round 13.
Unlike the main round, which supports the development of Open Source software in the Ethereum ecosystem, these thematic rounds are designed to support specific causes. In GR13, the cause rounds we are holding are Climate Solutions, Support for Ukraine, and Longevity.
These rounds will be held on gitcoin.co/grants and are open to all grantees who meet the eligibility criteria.
Only donations during Grants round 13 (March 9th - 24th, 2022) will be counted towards the Quadratic funding distribution of the matching funds. We are excited to see the grant submissions both from the Web3 community, and beyond.
Here are key factors when determining if your grant is eligible to be included in the thematic round:
The Grant must be in support of, or of the round it is joining (Climate Solutions, Support for Ukraine, or Longevity)
The Grant may not have any form of quid pro quo that has financial value (a scenario in which a user gets some additional unique benefit/award in return for their donation)
The Grant owner must be directly affiliated with the project and the funds must go to the project.
The project should not have its own token, or have raised VC funding (let’s keep the funds for the aspiring projects!)
Funding may not be directed to military activity.
Grantees cannot be subject to sanctions, and funding cannot be used in violation of any applicable law, rules or regulations (for example those addressing sanctions, countering financing of terrorism, anti-money-laundering)
Head over to Gitcoin and create a Grant. Select the Category that best aligns with your project, and also make sure to select the theme as a sub-category - Grants can have multiple sub-categories, so please select all that apply.
Grants need to be approved (to be on the Gitcoin platform) and sub-categories may be removed if you do not meet the criteria above. Reach out support@gitcoin.co if you have any questions.
